In October of 2007, I had the great privilege of volunteering to help with the painting of the first mural to honor women who have contributed to the history of Portland. With my right hand in a cast I attempted to "make my mark" by assisting Robin Corbin, the creator of the mural project, along with other Portland artists who came out to be a part of history. I proudly helped to paint some of the hundreds of Swift birds that adorn the mural. The mural was dedicated at a grand ceremony and the unveiling was attended by almost all the women honored. The mural creators Robin Corbin and Emily Lux along with the mural will be featured at the Janovec Gallery during the March 2008 exhibit "Remarkable Women" in celebration of Women's History.
